![]() ![]() Around 5:30-6am the bus stop in a small town. As we were very tired we fell asleep straight after the bus left. The bus was late more than one hour because they have a problem with breaks. We got the ticket (really expensive for a country in South America £32). We arrived in Arica from Tacna (Peru) on time to get the bus at 10:30pm for San Pedro de Atacama. If this wasn't the only bus company that serviced my destination, I would've gone with another company in a heartbeat! I don't know how this company can be ok with a website that doesn't take payments and an employee who tells customers to ask others where to catch their busses. Her response? I kid you not, "Ask your friend" I couldn't believe it!!A Tourbus employee telling me to ask my friend where the Turbus station is? YOU work for the company, YOU tell me where to catch the bus! Customer service fail!!!! ![]() So I again ask her, "Where is the bus station?" It was like pulling teeth!!! I couldn't believe how difficult it was for a company employee to tell me where their bus station was located!! An address would have been great!! I then explained to her, all in Spanish, that I don't know Santiago and I need to know how to get to the bus station from my friend's place (where I was staying) so I could catch the bus. I ask her, "So I have to come back to the airport?" She says no, to the bus station. I finally get a ticket and I ask where the bus station is (since I'm a foreigner I clearly have no idea where things are!) She keeps telling me door 5. I get NO RESPONSE!! I'm flabbergasted! So I ask again, this time looking straight at the girl to make sure she can hear me, again in Spanish, "Can I purchase a ticket from Santiago to Nueva Imperial, yes or no?" I then get some sort of response. Once I get to the office I ask, in Spanish, if I could purchase tickets here for Santiago to Nueva Imperial. By the time I find the Turbus office, it's at the other end of the airport, the very last office, at door 6!! I was SO upset that the man at the Turbus desk gave me incorrect information and sent me on a goose chase!! He was totally useless! She tells me door 5 (I started at door 1) I start walking to look for door 5. There's no Turbus office, desk or anything! I ask a girl at a ramdom kiosk where Turbus is. So I walk out the doors, look around and nothing. I ask the man if I could purchase a ticket there and he tells me no, I have to go to the Turbus office which is just outside the doors. I arrived in the capital Santiago by plane and noticed a Turbus desk at the airport before leaving domestic arrivals. So right off the bat I'm paying for their issue. And, because their website isn't working, I have to pay a higher price. I had already done steps 1-3 the night before, but never did the person think that maybe there's a problem with their website. I told them I couldn't purchase tickets from their website and I was given the following instructions:ġ) use Chrome as the browser 2) use PayPal if the credit card doesn't go through 3) try on your cellphone 4) go in person to a bus depot. The call center was closed for the night so I called them the following day. I was in the town of Punta Arenas so going to the company in person to purchase a ticket wasn't an option because they don't have an office there. I used my VISA, American Express and PayPal, none of which worked. ![]() On Wednesday night I attempted several times to purchase a ticket online to take advantage of the reduced rates. This company does not know the meaning of "customer service". I recommend the bus line but I guess on 7 hour drives expect not to be able to use the bathroom. I understand if I broke the rules but the way this man was speaking to me was completely unacceptable and a little frightening. I believe he was saying it was employees only which I saw no other bathroom and there was no sign on the door indicating who could use the bathroom. The way he was aggressively yelling at me and not letting me pass him after I said numerous times I am sorry and I did not understand he kept doing it. When I came out this man was standing there yelling at me in spanish, I only understand some which is of course my fault. As a women I had to use it to change my lady accessory if you will. Being at the top when I came down I only saw one bathroom, not sure if there was another in the back or not. Everything about the ride was good but one of the staff (not the driver) was extremely rude. The bus was clean and for the price I considered it nice, we have the top floor lay down beds which were comfortable. ![]()
